Jay Flower

HM Payson, a Portland wealth advisory firm, announced leadership changes approved at its December shareholder meeting. Dan Lay was named president. During his tenure with the firm, Lay was a portfolio manager, managing director, member of the board of directors and director of marketing. As president for almost two decades, Mike Currie has guided the firm through unprecedented growth. He remains on the leadership team as chairman of the board. And Jay Flower is promoted to director of marketing. Flower has contributed to the firm as a portfolio manager, shareholder, and member of the firm’s financial planning group and marketing committee

 

Steven McDermott has been promoted to senior loan and community partnership officer at the Genesis Community Loan Fund. McDermott has experience leading statewide housing initiatives and projects in the Governor’s Energy Office. He joined Genesis in 2023.

Spinnaker Trust has promoted three client advisers to senior vice president: Eben Jose, director of private markets; Laura Pfeiffenberger, ESOP client adviser; and Laura Kate McHugh. Jose was hired in 2014 and has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Pfeiffenberger was hired in 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and her MBA from the University of Southern Maine. McHugh was hired in 2017 and has a bachelor’s degree from Bentley University and an MBA from the University of Southern Maine.

NEW HIRES

United Insurance has hired two employees. The first, Roger Adams, will work out of the Farmington office as the business and personal lines account executive. The second, Alex Goodhile, will work as the employee benefits account executive in the Portland office.

Dr. Elizabeth Anne Mohan, a board-certified geriatrician, has been hired by InterMed at its Marginal Way Internal Medicine practice. Previously, Mohan practiced at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, acting as geriatric fellowship associate program director, core clinical faculty and medical director of the outpatient geriatric office and nursing home. She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her residency in family medicine at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh. She is certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine.

Eliza Rauscher has been hired as a real estate agent on Heather Shields’ team at Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty. Previously, Rauscher worked as a field producer on an MTV reality show and at a Portland-based advertising agency. A graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts, she specializes in residential sales and purchases.

Eric Masna has been hired as the vice president, supply chain and quality at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. He has three decades of operational and supply chain experience, previously working as the vice president, supply chain for Fuel Cell Energy and, before that, at Triumph Aerospace, where he served in the same position for 10 years. Masna has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He completed the Darden Executive Leadership Program through the University of Virginia.

Katherine Lynch-Caldwell and Colin Bettleyon have been hired by Body Back Chiropractic & Physiotherapy in Portland as associate chiropractors. Lynch-Caldwell specializes in prenatal care and Bettleyon focuses on helping athletes.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Lynch Logistics, a division of the Lynch Group, has been awarded the 2023 Maine Motor Transport Association Grand Champion for Safety, which recognizes safety standards in road transportation.

Bernstein Shur has announced four new shareholders. Rachael Becker McEntee is an attorney in the energy and environmental law practice group and has a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Harvard University. Molly Barker Gilligan is an attorney in the firm’s health care and labor and employment practice groups. She has a J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Maine. Hilary Holmes Rheaume is an attorney in the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution and auto and equipment dealers practice groups. She has a J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University. James Monteleone is an attorney in the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution and real estate practice groups. He has a J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law, an M.S. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
