OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Matthew W. Carle, 45, of Macintosh Lane passed away Monday April 29, 2024. He was born in Natick, Mass. on August 23, 1978, the son of Stephen and Margaret Wakelin Carle.

Matthew survived two episodes of Hodgkin’s Disease as a child and made medical history with his family at his side in Boston receiving an autologous stem cell transplant in 1996. Matthew and the family participated in Relay for Life and supported the American Cancer Society.

He graduated from Wiscasset High Schools and attended the University of Maine at Farmington and Southern Maine Community College.

Matty was employed at Hannaford’s, Emery Waterhouse and later as a fisherman and lobsterman. Matty has worked since 2017 as a meat cutter for Landry’s Shop and Save in Old Orchard Beach.

He enjoyed listening to rock and roll, cooking, having a cold beverage with friends and deep love of the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include a sister Emily Carle and friends.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, at noon with a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco.
