I was heartbroken to see the photo of the dead female humpback whale, ensnared in fishing lines, on the front page of the June 7 Press Herald. I could only imagine the anguish she experienced.

How could the newspaper also publish the Close To Home “comic” (Page C4) of a beached whale the same day? Sickening. In poor taste. Couldn’t a different comic or a blank square been put in its place?
