Given the state of the world, it was good to read two genuinely positive articles in the Oct. 2 Press Herald:

1. The Opinion page piece by Rabbi Herzfeld (“Searching for connection at Rosh Hashanah“).
2. The Local & State lead (“At State House ceremony, religious leaders honor victims of Lewiston mass shooting“) that included representatives of the Christian, Muslim and Jewish faiths, speaking on the first anniversary of the Lewiston shooting.

Whatever our beliefs, our spilled blood is always red.
