Mason Millman got the Maine Mariners off to a quick start with a goal just 1:50 into the game, then assisted on Owen Pederson’s power-play goal late in the second period as the Mariners halted a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the Reading Royals in an ECHL game Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena.
Nolan Maier faced only 14 shots on his way to the shutout. Justin Bean scored Maine’s final goal in the third period.
The teams meet again at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cross Arena.
