Town nominations due April 11

Nominations for elected municipal positions are due to the office of Town Clerk John Myers by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Town Hall, 185 Portland Road.

Positions available are those of Select Board members Mark Blier and Thomas Peters; two Planning Board members; and three Budget Committee members. All positions are three-year terms.

Nominees for the SAD 6 School Board have been announced. Sandra Cormier, SAD 6 superintendent’s executive assistant, said the candidates are Nathan Carlow, Buxton; Erica Creutz, Standish; Christina Silvestri, Limington; and Donald Marean, Hollis. They are each running unopposed.

The election for municipal and school candidates is June 10.

Cemetery association annual meeting

The South Buxton Cemetery Association (Tory Hill) will hold its 2025 annual meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Buxton Town Hall, 185 Portland Road. All lot owners, representatives and interested parties are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Members in attendance will elect officers and directors, and an auditor will be selected. There will be a meeting of the board of directors preceding the annual meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Free Easter egg hunt

The Dorcas Society of Hollis and Buxton is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, on the athletic field at the intersection of routes 112 and 202, in Buxton.

The event is for children ages 10 and younger and participants are asked to check in early and bring their own baskets or buckets. A separate area will be designated for children ages 3 and under.

The society is a women’s charitable association founded by historic children’s author Kate Douglas Wiggin.
