A community tree lighting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Bar Mills Fire Station on Portland Road. The free family event includes the annual Touch-A-Truck from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The Buxton Recreation Department reports that AME Photography will be on hand for family photos in Santa’s workshop. Hot cocoa, candy canes and popcorn will be available.
Families attending are asked to bring a canned good or donation to support local food pantries.

Thanksgiving closures, changes
Town Hall, 185 Portland Road, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
For curbside trash pickup, Thursday’s regular route will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 28; and Friday’s normal route will be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 29.

Rabies clinic
The annual rabies vaccination clinic will be conducted from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Public Works Garage, 215 Portland Road, Buxton. The cost is $8 per vaccination; cash only.
Dogs are required to be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
According to a post on the town of Buxton’s website, “For faster service and a three-year rabies vaccination, please bring your pet’s previous rabies certificate.”
Hollis Animal Clinic, Vacationland Dog Club, and the towns of Hollis and Buxton sponsor the clinic.
