A new diner featuring updated twists on classics is on track to open on Bridgton Road in February.
Co-owner Kori Reece said she expects Town Line Diner will open Feb. 1 at 1575 Bridgton Road, former home of Pine Tree Bakery. The property, which offers ample free parking in its lot, is located near the town line of Windham.
Reece, former executive chef of Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza, has partnered on the project with Josh Gelston, owner of Duck Pond Variety. Reece said the menu will feature a mix of “greasy spoon classics” like corned beef hash, along with “silver spoon specialties” like haddock cake Benedict and chocolate chip-bananas Foster pancakes.
Lunch dishes will include a Reuben with Morse’s sauerkraut, fried haddock sandwich, and sides of smashed/fried potatoes. Town Line will also feature a full bar with brunch drinks like mimosas, Bloody Marys and Irish coffee along with a selection of house specialty cocktails.
“There’s definitely a lack of breakfast restaurants in Westbrook,” Reece said, noting that the popular Brea Lu Cafe is located on the opposite end of town, close to six miles away. “When you go to Brea Lu there is a long wait for breakfast, so why not open another place so people can have more options?”
Reece said Town Diner will seat about 45 customers and be open Wednesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
