Roberto’s Restaurant, an Ogunquit local institution for 49 years, is listed for sale for about $2.78 million.
The Shore Road property went on the market earlier this winter, according to broker Don Wunder of RE/MAX Realty One in Ogunquit. Wunder said owner and founder Kathy Cammarota is “ready to pass the baton to someone else who wants to take the restaurant to what their own dream is.”
Wunder said when Cammarota first started, her customers were mostly made up of local hotel staff, and she served specials like two meals for $9.95. Cammarota could not be reached for further details about her decision to sell.
The 4,679-square-foot restaurant has 175 seats, and is a turnkey operation, including equipment, furniture and fixtures. Roberto’s closes for the off-season, and had been open five or six days a week for about six months of the year.
“The opportunity is immense there for someone to come in and extend the hours, days, and season,” Wunder said, noting that the property also has plenty of foot traffic and ample parking.
