Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza, a popular bar, restaurant and live music venue in Westbrook, reopened under new ownership earlier this month.

Co-owners Jill Murphy Piker, Susan Ericson and Adam Steinman bought the business from owner Bill Umbel, who first opened Lenny’s in 2016. Piker and Steinman bought the commercial real estate in a deal that closed Feb. 27.

Lenny’s was closed for about two months during the transition. The new owners relaunched March 11.

“We’re pretty much following what Bill was doing before he transitioned ownership,” said Piker, who had previously been a wellness instructor at University of New England and also a school counselor, but was looking for a career change. “It’s been a really friendly, happy transition.”

Piker said they’ll keep the venue’s name, and Ericson, the executive chef, is maintaining a pub-style menu in the restaurant.

“We’ll still honor what Bill has created for music, but I think you’ll see more jazz, funk and other infusions of music,” Piker said.

Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4-10 p.m.
