Two Portland breweries, Allagash and Orange Bike, won medals at the esteemed World Beer Cup, held in Pennsylvania on April 22.

Allagash Brewing Company won a gold medal in the Belgian-Style Witbier category for its flagship Allagash White, besting 67 competitors in the category. It’s the ninth total medal Allagash White has notched for the brewery over the years at both the World Beer Cup and the European Beer Star Awards.

Allagash’s Ski House beer also won a bronze medal in the Belgian-Style Strong Specialty Ale category, beating out 80 other entrants this year.

Gluten-free brewery Orange Bike was among 50 total competitors in the Gluten-Free category, where it took a bronze medal for its Guava Sour beer. The award marks Orange Bike’s fourth major national and international medal in just over two years, following previous wins at the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.

Known as “the Olympics of beer,” the 2026 World Beer Cup awarded 300 total medals. Winners were culled from a total pool of 8,166 entries from 50 countries.
