Kudos to the teachers union for its recommendations to defeat this budget at the polls (“Portland teachers union urges voters to reject school district budget,” May 26).
People should, please, educate themselves regarding this budget. It has so much fluff and overpriced administrative positions.
I can no longer support our elected city representatives because they no longer represent us. How can they allow this mismanagement to continue year after year? Bring us back to the days of line-item review. This budget would never have made it onto anyone’s ballot.
Our school budget should be based on the quality of our teachers and the curriculum we are teaching.
