Please slow down and take a broader view.
When Jim Longley, our only nonpartisan governor, was elected, he was given a Democratic
House with a Republican Senate, yet our democracy carried on.
The big surprise, this time, will be a nonpartisan lifetime Mainer named Rick Bennett. He will be on Maine’s final ballot. Bennett has filed more than enough signatures. He has lifelong experience in and out of government and has an admirable personal reputation.
We urge everyone to treat him fairly, as he deserves to be treated.
