I’m writing in support of Ellie Sato for State Senate. My husband and I are unenrolled voters and residents of Gorham.
We’re impressed with Sato’s passion and deep knowledge about issues we in Maine struggle with, like the lack of reasonable housing to own or rent. Sato, herself, has a working-class background. She understands what it means to struggle to pay monthly bills, the need for healthcare and what it means to be from a minority group, as she is Asian-American. She’s taken a strong stand against ICE’s presence as our representative — she wrote LD 2106, which protects immigrants’ due process rights.
We find Sato to be a strong, independent thinker, having deep Maine values, working hard, being honest with her constituents and believing in the importance to stand up and fight for those who cannot stand for themselves.
We encourage residents of Gorham and Scarborough to support Ellie Sato for State Senate.
