The Westbrook American reported on March 14, 1962, that Buxton voters approved a total budget of $73,483 in a town meeting at the S.D. Hanson Junior High School. Voters decided to continue plowing driveways and private ways at $15 each per year. Frank Jewett II was the moderator.
