The Scarborough Public Library is holding a special event on Sunday, May 22, to introduce students in grades K-12 to computer coding.
Called Scratch Day, the event, which will be held 2-4 p.m., is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. See www.scarboroughlibrary.org or call 883-4723 for more information.
Scratch Day is a global network of events that celebrates Scratch, a graphical programming language developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to introduce kids to coding.
Participants will create virtual bubbles inspired by Mercer Mayer’s book, “Bubble Bubble,” and Scratch programmers will serve as game designers. All ages are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

On May 22 the Scarborough Public Library will hold a Scratch Day event.
