Woman’s club to meet

The Gorham Woman’s Club will meet from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St.

The topic is heart health. The group is also working on making town streets safer. Refreshments will be served.

Senior center lunch

The Lakes Region Senior Center, 40 Acorn St., is hosting lunch and entertainment on Monday, Feb. 13.

Peter Allen and the Daytime Players will entertain at 10 a.m.  The senior theater company will present “Plucky Playlets,” short stories written by the Daytime Players.

Pizza and desserts will be served at $5 per person; and the entertainment is free,

GHS ‘Footloose’ reminder

The Gorham High School  production of the musical “Footloose” opens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, in the school’s performance center.

Other show times and dates are at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10; Saturday, Feb. 11; and matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, and Sunday, Feb. 12.

Tickets are $10; $8, students and seniors age 65 and up.Tickets will be available at the door or reserved by calling 839–5754.

U.S. taxpayer debt

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on Feb. 2 that the U.S. public debt was $19,939,908,790,870.48.
