RUMFORD — Coming off last week’s disappointing loss to Fryeburg, the Wells football team made sure to get back on the right track as the Warriors rolled to a 42-0 win over Mountain Valley on Friday night.

“We were very excited about the way we played,” said Wells coach Tim Roche. “We came right off the bus ready to play and that’s good to see.”

The Warriors, who held Mountain Valley to just one first down in the first half, jumped out to a 36-0 lead at the break.

Wells got touchdowns from Reid Chase, Jake Spofford, Evan Whitten, Nick Hansen, Chad Fitzpatrick and Riley Dempsey.

The Warriors also got a big game from quarterback Owen Barry, who went 13-of- 14 for more than 100 yards in the victory.

Roche was happy with how his quarterback led the Warriors offense and how Barry played on the other side of the ball.

“Owen had a great game both offensively and defensively again,” said Roche.

Deandre Woods also had a big game for Wells as the tight end hauled in eight passes from Barry.

Wells, which improved to 3-1 with the win, will visit Yarmouth next Friday night.
