FREEPORT — The Arthritis Foundation is hosting the Freeport Jingle Bell Run on Dec. 8 at Freeport High School.

Jingle Bell Runs are timed 5K races raising funds for research for a cure while encouraging a great time.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., with the race starting at 10 a.m.

After the race there will be prizes for best costumes and information about arthritis and its related diseases. The Jingle Bell Run/Walk began in 1984 to raise awareness of the most common cause of disability in the United States, while also raising needed funds for research, health education and government advocacy to improve the lives of people with arthritis.

Sign up before Nov. 21 and receive a free long sleeved TShirt. There will be no shirts for sale the day of the event.

Registration is $30 for ages over 10 and $15 for ages under 10. Prices increase by $5 the day of the event.
