BATH — Camden Hills scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings en route to a 4-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference high school softball win over Morse on Tuesday at Tainter Field.

The host Shipbuilders dipped to 2-4 and are scheduled to visit Gardiner on Thursday.

Kate Dube paced Morse with two doubles, while Jacelyn McNeill, Lauren Chandler, Morgan Cram, Ali Gagnon and Hope Faulkingham each singled.

“Again, our defense was better, but all four runs were unearned,” said Morse coach Will Laffely. “Some miscommunication and a couple of throwing errors did not allow us to close out the two innings.

“We also left seven runners on base, and we need a key hit when runners are in scoring position.”
