We write in strong support of Angus King III for governor. We and our spouses have known King in business and friendship for several decades. In that time, we’ve known Angus to be both an effective executive, full of integrity and a generous and caring friend.
We have seen all of those qualities highlighted as he has pivoted into politics. King’s campaign has demonstrated that — even in 2026 — a thoughtful and deeply decent candidate like him can still run a campaign of ideas without resorting to ad hominem attacks. King has some significant policy disagreements with his opponents that shouldn’t be overlooked, but we’d be hard pressed to find him ever saying anything negative about them or their commitment to public service.
We believe that decency is sorely missing in our politics and that a vote cast for Angus King III is a vote for a return to a politics that represent our better angels.
