Westbrook Public Services Department’s spring sweeping program is now in full swing. Approximately 400 cubic yards of street sweepings have been removed since the start of the program in early March. The Public Services Department’s goal is to sweep designated areas at least twice each year.

Streets are swept on a prioritized basis depending on the observed amount of sand present. A two to three week sweeping program began the week of April 9. The night sweeping program typically targets municipal and school parking areas as well as high traffic areas that are difficult to sweep during the day time hours. Night sweeping hours are between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday night through Thursday night. Westbrook citizens are encouraged to call the Pubic Services Department at 854-0660 with questions or comments about the annual sweeping program.

The city’s spring street sweeping program will begin April 9.
