Westbrook Then and Now
The photo at left shows the building located on Main Street at the corner of Mechanic Street in the late 1800’s.
C. Waterhouse Tailor Shop occupied the left side of the first floor and Sack’s Brothers Mercantile Store occupied the right side. Apartments occupied the upper floor.
Over the years, this building has had a variety of tenants. Jack’s Dine & Dance at one time occupied the entire first floor.
Jack’s later downsized, and for many years occupied the right side of the first floor. The left side was once a Montgomery Ward catalog store operated by Dave and Sandy Craw, Marty’s Variety Store operated by Marty and Shirley Pizzo, This & That Novelty Shop operated by Erik and Sharon Miller and Edd Cabral Accountant and Sports Cards.
The American Journal offices now occupy the entire first floor, with apartments on the upper floor.
