Gorham police said Wednesday a Gorham man was being held in Cumberland County Jail on $25,000 cash bail after being arrested Friday on charges of 20 counts of gross sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

Gorham Detective Dana Thompson arrested Dean Walsh, 36, of Gorham about 9 p.m. Friday at his home on Mercier Way. Walsh, who was arraigned this week, was arrested during an execution of a search warrant.

The arrest came after the girl, who was a family member, made statements to her grandmother.
