Molly Just comes to Maine from Washington, D.C., where she worked as senior revitalization planner for Arlington County, Va. She lived and worked in Washington and Arlington for 10 years.

Just began her career in city planning working for a law firm representing developers and their teams of development professionals, including civil and transportation engineers and architects. She managed these development teams through the development approval process for all types of projects, including residential subdivisions, multi-family buildings, office parks, hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, large mixed-use projects, and industrial projects.

Just joined Arlington County to be closer to home and to promote and practice smart growth planning principles. At Arlington she worked on development projects and long-range neighborhood planning. Her most recent project included leading a staff, citizen, and consultant planning process to develop a vision for the future of a neighborhood that would lose at least 12,000 jobs due to the Base Realignment and Closure Commission decision to remove Department of Defense workers from leased office space.

Just graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a degree in International Relations. She attained a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia. She is certified as a planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Just is currently living with friends in Richmond, Maine, while her husband sells their house in downtown Washington, D.C. She was introduced to Maine by her husband who attended Colby College. They have family and friends in Maine and were married in

Boothbay Harbor.
