BRUNSWICK — Jean R. McRae, 75, formerly of Bath died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

She was born in Portland on October 22, 1937, the daughter of Manuel and Sylvia (Taylor) Bowers.

She attended Morse High School and on June 11, 1955 she married Donald McRae. In 1967 she was employed at W.T. Grants for seven years, at Gibbons Oil Company in Bath until 1983 and she returned to Gibbons in 1987 until 1992. Jean was then employed at Granite Hill Physical Therapy in Brunswick from 1994 to 1999. She lived on Middle Street in Bath prior to moving to Brunswick in 1983. She enjoyed bowling on the Twilight League at Yankee Lanes for 20 years where she was Secretary and Treasurer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. McRae Jr., on May 18, 2001, her son, Darryl F. McRae, on November 1, 2005, and her companion, Daniel Holt, on February 3, 2013.

She is survived by one son, Michael E. McRae and his wife Janet of Augusta, two daughters, Sandra Arnold and her husband Robert of Tiverton, RI and Trisha Stephenson and her husband Richard of Menasha, WI, one sister, Hilda Brewer and her husband Walter of Ashland, MA, her stepbrother, Roger Brown and his wife Carmen of West Bath, her sister-inlaw, Nancy Minne and her husband Terry of Brighton, CO, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State Street, Augusta, 04330.
