READFIELD — The Sugg Middle School boys soccer team fell behind early en route to an 8-2 loss to Maranacook on Thursday.
The Black Bears claimed a 7-0 lead before the Greyhounds found a spark behind Nico Soucy, who scored late in the first half.
Sugg (0-2) received another goal when DJ Douglass connected with Noah Austin, and the defense held strong in the second half behind Jacob George.
The Greyhounds play their home opener on Tuesday against Hall-Dale.
