Firefighters from several communities responded mid-morning Monday to a two-alarm chimney fire at a home on South Street (Route 114) in Gorham, closing down both travel lanes.
Deputy Gorham Fire Chief Jim Poitras said the fire at 136 South St. was under control in about 30 minutes and that there were there no injuries. Poitras said a 93-year-old was a resident at the address.
At the scene, there was no immediate estimate of damage to the home.
Buxton, Scarborough, Standish, Westbrook and Windham fire departments assisted Gorham.
