CASTINE — Six members of the Maine Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse team earned NAC All-Conference honors. Of the six, Phippsburg native James Wilgus was named to the NAC All-Conference First Team
Wilgus, a goalie and Marine Transportation Operations, started all 15 games in net for the Mariners, recording 154 saves, while only allowing 132 goals.
The junior tallied a 53.8 save percentage, while only allowing 9.96 goals per game. On March 21, Wilgus helped the Mariners to a 24-0 shut-out victory, the first shutout since March 31, 2012. Wilgus also grabbed NAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 16.
