Gorham police reported Friday that a suspect was apprehended on Nov. 19 in Limington following a chase through several towns.

Sgt. Sears Edwards of the Gorham Police Department said in a report that Shaun Webster, 22, of Buxton, faces multiple charges stemming from an incident that began at 6:19 p.m. Thursday on Ossipee Trail (Route 25) in Gorham.

Edwards reported that Gorham officer Dean Hannon had attempted to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. “The vehicle attempted to elude Gorham police officers along with officers from York County, Cumberland County and Maine State Police,” Edwards said in the report.

The pursuit went through several towns, the police report said, and ended in Limington where the suspect’s vehicle was disabled and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office took the suspect into custody.

Webster was taken to Cumberland County Jail and faces charges that include eluding an officer, reckless conduct with a motor vehicle and refusing to submit to arrest, the report said.
