Ben Lambert kept the Golden Trojans in the game and Luke Chessie sent the TA fans home happy.
Lambert tossed a complete game, giving up just one earned run and striking out four, and Chessie provided a game-winning, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Trojans the win.
Chessie had three hits on the day to lead TA, which also got two hits from both Zach Ham and Josh LePauloue.
It was the second straight complete game for Lambert, who has proven to be one of the best pitchers in the state.
“He pitched well today,” said TA coach Ray Petit. “He was a little more effective than he was in the first game. His control and his off-speed stuff was better.”
Petit was thrilled to see his young team complete a come-from-behind win.
“It’s very encouraging. We have three or four young players and we were a little tight at the beginning of the game,” said Petit. “They rose to the occasion, stuck with it and ended up coming out with a win.”
The Trojans (2-0) will visit Sanford today.
