Chowder luncheon – Friday, May 27, and every Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., North Deering Congregational Church, 1364 Washington Ave., Portland. Bowl of haddock chowder with crackers, $9; or lobster roll lunch with chips, $10; cup of chowder, $6; combination lobster roll with cup opf chowder, $13. All lunches include fresh baked bread, pickle, cookie and beverage; takeouts available.

Haddock dinner – Saturday, May 28, 5 p.m., Living Waters church, 197 Parker Farm Road (intersection routes 112 and 22 by Plummer’s Market), Buxton. Haddock dinner including assorted casseroles, salads, veggies, desserts, and beverages. Suggested donations $8, $4, and $20, family.

VFW meal – Wednesday, June 1, 5-6:30 p.m., VFW Post 832, Peary Terrace, South Portland. Roast pork, macaroni & cheese, veggies and dessert. $7.

Free meal – Wednesday, June 1, 5-6 p.m., Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St., Westbrook. Sponsored in collaboration with Wayside Food programs and Trinity Lutheran Church. Handicapped accessible and free parking.

Public lunch – Friday, June 3, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., North Yarmouth Congregational Church, 3 Gray Road, North Yarmouth.  Homemade fish chowder, grilled crab and Swiss sandwiches, a special, and desserts served. À la carte pricing; takeout  available. Proceeds benefit the church and its work in the community.

Public supper – Saturday, June 4, 5 p.m., West Gorham Union Church, 190 Ossipee Trail (Route 25 three miles west of Gorham Village), Gorham. Three kinds of beans, hot dogs, chicken pie, American chop suey, casseroles, salads, homemade pies, coffee and punch. Ticket sales start at 4 p.m. $8, $3.

Barbecue chicken supper – Saturday, June 4, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Stewart P. Morrill Post 35, 413 Broadway, South Portland. Barbecue chicken, potato salad, green beans, cole slaw, bread, dsssert and beverages. $8, $3.

Free community turkey dinner – Saturday, June 4, 5-6:30 p.m., Buxton United Methodist Church, 276 Chicopee Road, Buxton. Turkey supper with the fixings. All are welcome.

Bean supper – Saturday, June 4, 4:320-6 p.m., White Rock Community Club, Wilson Road (off Route 237), Gorham. Two kinds of beans, hort dogs, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni & cheese, homemade biscuits and pies. $8, $4.
