BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College senior wide receiver Nick Vailas has been named Second Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in football awards handed out by the league on Tuesday.
Vailas closed out a sensational career with a flourish, hauling in 56 receptions, second most in the NESCAC, for 729 yards, fourth in the NESCAC.
His final game was his best, as he established a program record with 230 receiving yards against Colby on Nov. 11, while also tying a school mark with 14 receptions in the game.
The senior etched his name into the Bowdoin record books during his time beneath the pines. His 56 catches this season were second-most by a Polar Bear in school history, while his 127 career receptions and 10 career touchdowns also stand second all-time.
His 729 receiving yards in 2017 are third-most ever by a Bowdoin player in a single season, and his 1,578 receiving yards are also third alltime in school history.
