WESTBROOK – “The Nite Show” with Danny Cashman will return to Westbrook next month. The 30-minute late-night talk show, featuring a monologue, comedy bits, guest interviews and performances, will film two shows at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center Friday, April 13. 

“When we took our show to Westbrook last year, the venue, the city, and the region really rolled out the red carpet,” “Nite Show” host Danny Cashman said in a release. “We had such a great time with a lot of local personalities creating a lot of fun moments. We look forward to bringing everyone from our show back to town, creating some good television, and once again cleaning out the Westbrook Pizza Hut buffet.”

According to the release announcing the show’s taping in Westbrook, “The Nite Show” is “modeled after shows done by Johnny Carson, David Letterman, and Conan O’ Brien.” Featuring a live audience, a 5-piece house band (Brian Nadeau & The Nite Show Band) and a live announcer (Joe Kennedy), the show originates from Husson University’s Gracie Theatre and is broadcast statewide on Saturday nights.

The Westbrook taping will begin at 6:30 p.m. and audience members are asked to arrive at 5:45 p.m. Free tickets can be obtained at theniteshowmaine.com. Guests for the show will be announced shortly.

The show, produced by students and faculty from the New England School of Communications at Husson University in Bangor, last visited Westbrook in January 2017. It can be seen Saturday nights in Portland at 7:30 p.m. on WGME CBS 13 and 10:30 p.m. WPFO Fox 23.
