Being in my 80s, and having served in many environmental and conservation positions – including as executive director of the Maine Audubon Society, commissioner of the Maine Department of Conservation, chair of the board of the Gulf of Maine Aquarium, member of the Maine Board of Environmental Protection and several others – I am writing today to endorse Adam Cote for our next governor.

Mr. Cote’s proven leadership abilities and his positions on environmental protection and conservation make him my choice for the job. I particularly like his very strong support for a new bond issue to re-fund the Land for Maine’s Future program. In my opinion, Land for Maine’s Future is one of the most popular and important programs enacted by the Maine Legislature in the last 50 years!

On Mr. Cote’s website, he offers this statement: “Protecting Maine’s clean water, clean air and abundant natural beauty and diverse wildlife is a core value for me.” I feel strongly that we need this kind of leader in the Blaine House.

I hope you will join me in voting in the upcoming Democratic primary and making Adam Cote your first choice
