New Year Gorham
seeks coordinator

The coordinator of New Year Gorham is stepping down following the next celebration and is hoping a volunteer will come forward to continue the annual event that began a decade ago.

“It is with mixed emotions, I have announced this is the last year I will serve as the coordinator for New Year Gorham,” Virginia Wilder Cross said in a press release.

Cross said she is thankful for the individuals,  businesses, town staff and “especially the Recreation Department” that have supported the event, which began in 2008. “They never let us down even when snow, wind and ice challenged them to work over, above and beyond the call of duty,” she said.

Those interested in coordinating future New Year Gorham celebrations can reach Cross at 222-2248 or email [email protected].
