The First Congregational Church of Buxton, Tory Hill Meetinghouse, will return to its winter hours with the Sunday service at 10:30 a.m., beginning Sunday, Sept. 9. The church is pictured with a lift that arrived Aug. 31 to be used in painting the steeple.
Visit historic school
The Buxton-Hollis Historical Society calendar says the N.C. Watson one-room school at the intersection of Long Plains and Groveville roads will be open from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The school several years ago was moved to the site from Chicopee and it last held regular classes 76 years ago.
Blood drive
American Red Cross will conduct blood donations from 1-6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at Buxton Town Hall, 185 Portland Road.
