Jean Trowbridge

ALFRED – Jean Trowbridge of Alfred died peacefully May 23, 2021, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice house in Scarborough, surrounded by family.Jean was born in Canton, Mass., April 11, 1939. She lived on a farm and loved animals. She married James Trowbridge in 1959 and traveled the world as a military wife. She loved to paint and garden, was an avid puzzler and cheered on the Red Sox and Patriots. She loved science fiction and her favorite movie was Planet of the Apes. She was a mother of two, a grandmother of two and a great-grandmother of two. She was an active volunteer in many of her kids sports and was a passionate volunteer at the American Legion in Alfred, serving up hotdogs and homemade desserts. She was a loving, caring person who will be missed by many.She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Adeline D’Attanasio; her brother, Gilbert D’Attanasio of Hyde Park, Mass and sister, Elena Rosati also of Hyde Park, Mass.; and her husband, James Trowbridge of Alfred. She is survived by her sons James Trowbridge and wife Risma Trowbridge of Dover, N.H., John Trowbridge and wife Kathy Sutherland of Brunswick; her granddaughters Brittany Trowbridge and her son Nikoliai of Newington, N.H.; and Cassie Hutchins and her husband, Ben Hutchins and son, Benedict of Newington, N.H.A funeral mass will be held for Jean, Saturday June 5, 10 a.m., at the Brothers of Christian Instruction, Alfred.
