SCARBOROUGH – Maria A. Henderson, 94 died Feb. 20, 2022, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born in Wildon, Steiermark, Austria, March 31, 1927. She entered the University of Luxemburg with a full scholarship and graduated with a degree in education. Maria came to the United States in 1955 and became a citizen in 1962. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Henderson, and her son Ronald Brown. She is survived by daughters Sharon Kinney of Palmdale, CA, and Ilse Burns and her husband Peter of Buxton, eight grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Also, her dear friend of over fifty years Rosie Paradis.Maria started working for Fairchild Semiconductor in 1962 and continued after they were acquired by National Semiconductor. She retired from their international marketing group in 1990. Maria married Richard Henderson that year and they resided in Buxton for several years before moving to Cutler. Due to a family illness, they moved back to southern Maine in 2013 for better medical care.The family would like recognize those care givers who provided in home care during her final months. Special thanks to Catherine Dorrington and Tracy Madden from Coastal Care Solutions as well as Michele Drown her visiting nurse from Martins Point.Maria will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in a family plot in Cutler this spring.
