SACO – Elaine A. Pellerin, 76, passed away on March 1, 2022. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Elaine was born in Houlton on August 28, 1945 to George and Lydia (Inghram) Smith.

She completed her Masters Degree in Education through the University of Southern Maine and loved teaching children and being a lifelong learner and avid reader herself. She was a devoted parent and grandparent.

Elaine purchased her dream home on Ossippee Lake later in life and was thankful for every day she spent there. She developed her love of lake life growing up and spending time at her family camp on Nickerson Lake. She enjoyed swimming, kayaking, gardening, craft projects, walks on the beach while collecting shells and the peaceful lifestyle the lake offered her. She believed strongly in helping others whenever possible. Her favorite time was spent with her family.

Elaine is the beloved mother of Kimberly Bowie and her spouse Torey Carr and Eric Bowie and his life partner Michelle Hiltz; grandmother of Ashlyn M. Bowie and Jordan B. Carr; sister of Sandra McGowan, Theresa Nellans, and George (Sonny) Smith, Jr. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held privately.
