John Oscar Bond Sr.

SOUTH BERWICK – John Oscar Bond Sr., 85, beloved husband of Jean M. (Bauer) Bond, of Waterside Lane died Aug. 15, 2022.

Born in Eliot, on March 27, 1937, he was the son of the late Arthur R. and Virginia (Fernald) Bond. John graduated from Eliot High School in 1955. In 1964, he graduated from the Apprentice Shipfitter Program, then graduating in 1969 from the Apprentice Engineering Technician Naval Architectural Program.

John was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Lilly) Bond in 2006; brother Richard Bond, sisters, Beverly Ellis, Carol Tugan and grandson Michael Bond.

He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and confidant Jean Marie (Bauer) Bond; sons, John O. Bond, Jr. and wife Patti of York, James B. Bond and wife Mardi of Denmark; daughters Ann Veino and husband Robert of Eliot and Dr. Cheryl L. Dozier, Ph.D. and husband Joseph Chiseri of Voorheesville, N.Y.; sisters, Joyce Warrell and Norma Short of Lebanon; grandchildren, Ian and Patrick Bond, Jaremy Bond, Jessica Lazzaro, Brianne Veino, and Katharine, Michael and Nicholas Chiseri; great-grandsons Kynen Gagnon, Domanik, Anthony and James Luis Bond and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held Monday, August 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a Masonic Service immediately followed by funeral services at 12 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, Maine. Interment with Military Honors to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick.
