Veteran regional restaurateurs have opened Salty Spirits, an oyster and cocktail bar in Kittery Foreside.

Co-owners Deb McCluskey and her son, Michael, opened Salty Spirits at 76 Wallingford Square — formerly Moodra salon — on Dec. 18.

Deb McCluskey said the food menu at the “cozy little upscale bar” features raw bar items and small plates like sauteed mussels, lobster tacos, tinned fish, roasted mushroom vol-au-vent and a prosciutto and manchego plate.

The bar offers wine, several Maine beers and various specialty cocktails like a martini flight and Old Grog’s Gold with bourbon, lavender syrup and lemon juice, along with a selection of mocktails.

The intimate venue is just 500 square feet, including kitchen and service space, with 14 bar seats and about six table seats. Salty Spirits is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Residents of Kittery, the McCluskeys also own Lil’s Cafe in Kittery Foreside , Henry’s Bagel and Deli in Kittery, and three cafes in Southern New Hampshire.
