WISCASSET –  A Windsor woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal car accident that happened in 2008.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Rand Maker said Roxann Berry, 23, was taken into custody by deputies around 1:15 p.m. Berry was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in which Loren St. Cyr, 20, of Newcastle was killed.

Police investigators said St. Cyr, who was on foot, died on the night of Sept. 20, 2008, on North Clary Road in Jefferson after being hit by two vehicles.

Maker said Berry’s 1996 Subaru Legacy hit St. Cyr first. A second driver, James Mc-Kenna of Jefferson, was unable to stop and hit St. Cyr.

McKenna, who was driving a minivan, stopped to report the accident and will not be charged, Maker said.

Deputies and detectives have worked on the investigation since learning from the state Medical Examiner’s Office that St. Cyr was hit by two vehicles. Maker said a tip from a resident led to Berry’s arrest.
