BOWDOIN — Two men who were allegedly burglarizing a home on Augusta Road in Bowdoin were apprehended by police this afternoon.

Adrian D. Moss, 32, of Waterville, and Paul W. Beister, 21, of Winslow, were each charged with burglary, a Class B offense. Moss was also charged with violating conditions of his release. Beister was charged with a probation violation.

The vehicle Moss and Beister were driving was impounded after police discovered stolen goods inside.

“Sagadahoc County has been experiencing a rash of daytime residential burglaries and investigators have been working hard to solve these breaks. This has been a major development and hopefully will put an end to this crime spree,” Sheriff Joel A. Merry said, in a statement.

Merry said officers from the town of Topsham and Richmond assisted with the arrests. Police are investigating whether the men may have been involved in burglaries in Gardiner and Richmond.

Moss and Beister are being held at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
