SACO – Amanda Arnold and Sarah Young scored Saturday as Thornton Academy downed Cheverus 2-0 in a Southern Maine Activities Association schoolgirl soccer game.

Kaitlyn Hall assisted on each goal for the Golden Trojans (5-2) against the Stags (5-2-1).

Sydney Proctor finished with 10 saves for Thornton.

GREELY 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Libby Thomas, Audrey Parolin and Kelly Burrell scored for the Rangers (4-3) against the Patriots (2-4-1) at Gray.

Allie Morrill and Sammi Toorish had assists for Greely.

Taylor Darnell scored and Sammi Wilkins made 13 saves for Gray-New Gloucester.

NOBLE 2, KENNEBUNK 0: Olivia McDermith and Amber Kelly scored four minutes apart midway through the second half as the Knights (4-4) edged the Rams (3-4-1) at North Berwick.

Steph Needham made nine saves to record the shutout. Margaux LeBlanc stopped six shots for Kennebunk.

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, POLAND 0: Karyn Barrett scored twice to lead the Capers (4-3) past the Knights (3-5) at Cape Elizabeth.

Maddy Riker, Olivia Bornick and Zianna Merlim also scored, and Talley Perkins provided strong midfield play.

MT. ABRAM 1, DIRIGO 1: Page Murphy of Dirigo (4-2-1) and Lizzie Carleton of Mt. Abram (1-4-2) scored first-half goals at Dixfield.

DEERING 6, MASSABESIC 0: The Rams (4-3) scored four first-half goals and shut out the Mustangs (0-7) at Portland.

Alexis Sivolos scored twice. Alexis Elowitch, Aarika Viola, Amanda Masse and Chelsea Saucier also scored.

SACOPEE VALLEY 1, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Emily Lane scored for the Hawks (4-1-1) and the Panthers (1-4-1) tied it on an own goal in the second half at Yarmouth.

Courtney Ross made five saves for the Hawks. Savanna Poole finished with four saves for NYA.

SCARBOROUGH 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Haley Carignan and Meghan Tyson scored in the first two minutes and the Red Storm (7-0) rolled past the Red Riots (3-3-1) at Scarborough.

Margaret Palmer and Kaitlin Reynolds added goals. Abby Van Note stopped two shots for the shutout.

GREELY 5, LAKE REGION 1: Jonathan Coyne scored twice as the Rangers (4-3) used five unanswered goals to defeat the Lakers (1-5-1) at Naples.

Chase Rochon, Ben Shain and Gavin Collins also scored in the comeback.

YORK 5, FREEPORT 0: Pierce Tuding scored two goals as the Wildcats (6-1) cruised past the Falcons (2-5-1) at Freeport.

GREELY 5, YARMOUTH 1: Jackie Andrews scored twice as the Rangers (7-2) pulled away from the Clippers (0-8-1) at Cumberland.

Jessica Wilson, Eliza Porter and Maggie Norton also scored for Greely, which led 2-0 at halftime on goals by Wilson and Andrews.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1, FALMOUTH 0: Brenna Harlow scored from Jenna Labrecque with two minutes left in the second overtime to lift the Patriots (4-6) over the Yachtsmen (3-6) at Gray.

Olivia Rottari made 10 saves for Falmouth.

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, WAYNFLETE 0: Justine Ruhlin had two goals and two assists, and Julia Vacchiano also scored twice as the Hawks (6-3) shut out the Flyers (3-4-1) at South Hiram.

Ally Allard added a goal and two assists. Ashley Pingree made four saves to earn her fifth shutout.

BREWER 3, MT. ARARAT 0: The Witches (4-5-1) scored three first-half goals and held off the Eagles (4-5) at Brewer.

BELFAST 4, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 0: Helene Wallace scored twice as the Lions (6-2) took a 2-0 halftime lead and pulled away from the Huskies (3-5) at Pittsfield.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Aslyn Dindorf scored 30 seconds into the second half and Fryeburg Academy (7-2) held off the Capers (5-3-1) at Cape Elizabeth.
