SACO — Katrina Thibodeau scored three goals in the final 19 minutes as Thornton Academy rallied to earn a 4-2 win over South Portland in an SMAA field hockey game Monday.

South Portland (5-6) opened the scoring eight minutes into the game on a goal by Victoria Brookings.

Thornton (7-3-1) tied it five minutes later when Morgan Ouellette-Foss scored.

Maraka Soule gave the Red Riots a 2-1 lead at 6:36 of the second half.

 

CHEVERUS 1, MCAULEY 0: Brooke Flaherty scored from Taylor Witham with 11:01 remaining to give the visiting Stags (9-2) a win over the Lions (3-9).

Cindy Clark stopped two shots for Cheverus. Jaime Lacasse made 15 saves for McAuley.

 

BONNY EAGLE 3, NOBLE 0: Nicole DeMidio had a goal and an assist and Peyton Dostie chipped in two assists to help the Scots (8-3) defeat the Knights (2-8) at Standish.

Brooke Young and Natasha Vayda also scored, and Rebecca Coney made six saves for the shutout.

 

MASSABESIC 2, DEERING 1: Karissa McCoy and Alex Staples scored a goal apiece for the Mustangs (6-5) as they built a 2-0 lead and held off the Rams (0-10) at Portland.

Olivia Laurie scored for Deering, and Caley Presby made 16 saves.

 

PORTLAND 5, BIDDEFORD 1: Effie Drew scored twice and Maura O’Connor had a goal and an assist to lead the Bulldogs (5-5) past the visiting Tigers (3-8).

Ellen Taffere and Alex Thompson contributed a goal apiece for Portland.

Maria Gagne scored for Biddeford and Tiffany Gagne made 18 saves.

YORK 3, FALMOUTH 0: Cari Posternak scored a pair of goals to lead the Wildcats (11-1) over the Yachtsmen (4-8) at Falmouth.

Shelby Spencer also scored, and Amanda Kasbohm made a pair of saves to record the shutout.

 

SANFORD 2, WINDHAM 0: Jordan Brasier scored in each half to lead Sanford (5-5) at Windham (2-8-1).

Laura Bouchard provided an assist.

Andrea Feeney made 15 saves for Windham.

WAYNFLETE 3, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Lindsey Sinicki scored in the first half, and Alida Farrell and Nyanen Deng added second-half goals as the Flyers (6-4-1) beat the Seagulls (3-9) at Old Orchard Beach.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

YARMOUTH 2, FREEPORT 1: Danielle Torres had a goal and an assist in the second half as the Clippers (10-0) rallied to beat the visiting Falcons (5-4-1).

Ciera Wentworth scored for Freeport in the first half. Torres set up Devin Simsarian for the tying goal eight minutes into the second half, then scored the winner off an assist from Jeanna Lowery 10 minutes later.

SCARBOROUGH 1, WINDHAM 0: Meghan Tyson scored from Cortney Hughes 46 seconds into overtime to lift the Red Storm (10-0) over the Eagles (5-3-2) at Scarborough.

Hughes sent a pass to Tyson, who shot it over Windham keeper Amber Verrill from 35 yards.

Verrill finished with 14 saves, including three difficult stops in the second half.

Jill Deering earned the shutout with five saves.

 

BONNY EAGLE 2, MARSHWOOD 1: Kate Boyer scored in the 13th minute and added an assist on a goal by Nicole Taylor 16 minutes into the second half as the Scots (3-5-2) built a 2-0 lead and held off the Hawks (4-5-1) at Standish.

Marshwood cut the deficit to 2-1 when Katie Emmons scored with three minutes left.

Marissa Butler of Bonny Eagle and Tatum Schladenhauffer of Marshwood each had nine saves.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, GORHAM 0: Ashley Kane scored on an assist from Danielle Daigle midway through the first half, and Lauren Titus added an insurance goal just before halftime as the Trojans (7-2) downed the Rams (6-3) at Saco.

Sydney Proctor finished with 13 saves to record her school-record 19th shutout.

HALL-DALE 5, WISCASSET 2: Kristina Buck scored a pair of goals and Carylanne Wolfington collected a goal and three assists to lead the Bulldogs (6-3) past the Redskins (2-7-2) at Farmingdale.

Wiscasset got a goal apiece from Haley Grant and Sydney Morin.

 

NOKOMIS 2, MEDOMAK VALLEY 1: Kelsie Richards scored twice and the Warriors (6-4) held off the Panthers (7-3) at Newport.

Maria Ennamorati scored with 17:02 left for Medomak Valley.

A.R. GOULD 7, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 3: George Hopkins collected five goals and Tyler Cann finished with 12 saves to lead the Bears (3-3) past Highview Christian (4-4) at South Portland.

Brandan Clement and Josh Thurlow added a goal apiece.

VOLLEYBALL

SCARBOROUGH 3, GORHAM 1: Brittany Bona had 22 kills, six aces and eight digs to lead the Red Storm (5-6) past the Rams (5-5) at Gorham, 25-13, 25-23, 27-29, 25-18.

Emily Robbins added 30 assists for Scarborough. Lindsay Chapman led Gorham with 16 digs, four kills, 15 receptions and an ace.

 

YARMOUTH 3, CONY 1: Mary Sansone had 16 digs, Emily Clark collected eight service points and four blocks, and Abbie Hutchinson added seven kills to lead the Clippers (5-5) to a 25-12, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22 win over the Rams (2-6) at Yarmouth.

Alyssa Marson finished with nine kills for Cony.
