Bands from several southern Maine high schools won honors at last weekend’s State Instrumental Jazz Festival at Mount Desert Island, which was sponsored by the Maine Music Educators Association.
Division I combos: Brunswick, first place; Westbrook, second; South Portland, third.
Division III combos: Cheverus, second place.
Division A multi-combos: Westbrook, third place.
Multiple Jazz Bands Division: Westbrook, first place; South Portland, second.
Division I jazz bands: South Portland, first place; Westbrook, second; Biddeford, third.
Division II jazz bands: Greely, third place.
Jazz bands from Noble, Brunswick and Old Orchard Beach high schools also won recognition.
