PORTLAND — The U.S. Coast Guard and the Maine Marine Patrol are searching the Atlantic Ocean east of Belfast after an emergency call was received.
The Coast Guard says the “mayday” message was received about 4:40 p.m. yesterday. The search is still under way this morning.
A Coast Guard vessel and helicopter and the Maine Marine Patrol are searching the area where the distress call is believed to have originated.
The Coast Guard says there have been no reports of overdue vessels or missing mariners.
