HART

THE HART cat shelter and adoption center in Cumberland has more than 130 cats available as well as kittens. For pictures go to www.hartofme.com or call 829-4116.

Tommy is a very handsome adult male brown tiger with a very sweet personality. He is a long, lean cat with a cute white bib and white paws. He is quite affectionate and loving and really enjoys being with people. Tommy would be happy in a quiet home with no other cats.

Henrietta is a gorgeous adult female patch tabby. She will let you know when she wants attention…she can be a bit moody. She can be very sweet but may get quickly over-stimulated so it is not recommended that she live with young children. We think she will outgrow this as she settles in.

A LOW-COST SPAY and neuter clinic for cats will open Friday at the Animal Welfare Society to serve the low-income public. The goal of the Shelter Clinic is to help control the overpopulation of unwanted cats and kittens, thereby having fewer animals come to the shelter. In 2010 the AWS cared for 2,211 cats and kittens. If you or someone you know are receiving or qualify for state or federal aid and need help spaying/neutering a cat, call 985-3244.

Ollie, an 18-month-old American bulldog mix, is an acitve, social, and affectionate dog. He may need a little time to warm up to new people, but before you know it he’ll be a great companion. Though he’s young, he’s already developed a mature, easy-going lifestyle. He prefers regular walks with people over running up the walls. Ollie would make a great pet for anyone looking for a sidekick rather than a playmate. He would do best as the only pet in his new home.

Hendrix, a 6-year-old black and white cat, is a bit of a reserved fellow. He prefers cozying up in a comfy corner over running up the walls after a toy. He won’t be the first to come running to new people, but once he knows you’re just looking to be his friend, he’ll become quite the affectionate kitty cat. He’ll gladly rub up against you, looking for as much attention as he can get. Just like other cats over 6 months of age, the adoption fee for Hendrix will be waived.
