TOPSHAM — More troops from Maine are heading to Afghanistan.
About 140 Marines from Company A, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment in Topsham were given a send-off by families and friends today before departing for training at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
WMTW-TV says the Marines will be in California for three months before deploying to Afghanistan, where they’ll train and advise Afghan police.
